Ingemination Means What?

My Rehearsals and Exercises blog, Deeper Down the Path

‘INGEMINATION’ was the original title of my book Rehearsals and Exercise: A Method for Playing Speed Guitar. Ingemination describes ‘the practice of practice’. The word means to repeat or rehearse. However, according to Thesaurus.com the verb, a synonym for ingeminate is ‘singing the same old song’ (a pithy phrase).

My book is no longer titled INGEMINATION in part because, according to Thesaurs.com, ‘boring’ is also similar. Do not get me wrong. I understand that repeating (seesawing) the same exercises while rehearsing two up and one down day after day might seem too repetitive and therefore boring.

But, here is another apt pithy phrase: ‘Don’t knock it until you try it’. I have used my Rehearsals and Exercises method for over two years. I have completed the BASIC SEQUENTIAL EXERCISES twice. I worked through the HORIZONTAL EXERCISES and the STRETCHED EXERCISES using my TWO UP & ONE DOWN method and my SPEED SEESAW method for four exercises spending about 20 minutes practicing most days of the week. In this time, my Rehearsals and Exercises method has become a part of my life. I know what I practiced yesterday, what I am practicing today, and what I will practice tomorrow.

I look forward to 20 minutes of practicing these exercises. My SPEED SEESAW METRONOME has become a companion. I look forward to practicing every day. When I do not practice, something important is missing.

I am glad you have joined me on the path to fast. Embrace the daughters Patience and Persistence. Keep practicing four exercises for a total of 20 minutes a day. I trust my SPEED SEESAW METRONOME will become your companion. And soon you will be moving your fingers as fast as a hummingbird’s wings.

Just one more PURPLE BOX!
